Use subject pronouns for the person or thing doing the action, and object pronouns after verbs or prepositions.
Form and rules
Subject pronouns are I, you, he, she, it, we, they.
Object pronouns are me, you, him, her, it, us, them.
Use a subject pronoun before the verb when it is the subject: She called.
Use an object pronoun after a verb: I called her.
Use an object pronoun after a preposition: with me, for him, to them.
A closer look
Subject pronouns normally come before the verb as the subject. Object pronouns normally come after a verb or preposition as the object.
The object forms are me, you, him, her, it, us, and them. They do not change according to position beyond subject/object choice.
Examples
He knows me.
I see her every day.
Can you help us?
This gift is for them.
They are sitting next to him.
Common mistakes
After the verb, use the object pronoun me.
At the beginning as subject, use they.
